Pima County Deputy Arrested on Kidnapping Charges Amid Guthrie Probe!

In Pima CountyArizona, former Deputy Sheriff Travis Reynolds was arrested on kidnapping charges following allegations of on-duty misconduct. Authorities state Reynolds abducted a handcuffed woman while transporting her to the Pima County Jail. The complaint alleges he shared a vape device with the detainee, displayed sexually explicit videos, and suggested sexual favors at a hotel to “help” her case. After the Tucson Police Department utilized surveillance video to corroborate the victim’s claims, Reynolds was immediately terminated. Prosecutors emphasized the victim’s intense fear and the gross imbalance of authority during the incident.

Currently held on a $200,000 bond, Reynolds awaits a preliminary hearing on April 6. This arrest occurs as the Pima County Sheriff’s Department faces scrutiny over the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie. While no formal link between Reynolds and the Guthrie case is confirmed, the timing has intensified public concern. Savannah Guthrie recently expressed her family’s “agony” since her mother vanished on February 1. As the investigation continues, officials are reviewing Reynolds’ history to determine if this kidnapping reflects a broader pattern of criminal activity.
