Pima County Deputy Arrested on Kidnapping Charges Amid Guthrie Probe!

Travis Reynolds, a 22-year-old former deputy with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, has been arrested on kidnapping charges following an incident in Pima CountyArizona. The Tucson Police Department took Reynolds into custody after allegations surfaced that he abducted a handcuffed woman during a transport to the Pima County Jail. During the trip, Reynolds reportedly shared a vape device with the detainee, made inappropriate comments about her appearance, and suggested a sexual encounter at a hotel to “help” her case. The victim reported feeling intimidated by the power dynamic of a law enforcement officer, noting that Reynolds also displayed sexually explicit videos to her while intentionally delaying her booking process.

Following the arrest, Reynolds was immediately terminated by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. During a court appearance, a judge set his bond at $200,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 6. This scandal emerges as the agency faces intense public pressure and scrutiny regarding its handling of the Nancy Guthrie missing persons investigation. The Tucson Police Department confirmed that the investigation into Reynolds remains active, as statements in court suggest the encounter may not have been an isolated incident of misconduct. This case highlights growing concerns over public trust and police accountability within the region’s law enforcement landscape.
